Fishing guide
Blue Bream (Ballerus ballerus) is a freshwater fish of the Carp family, usually found in the waterways of Central Europe and the European part of Russia. These fish prefer to inhabit clean freshwater rivers and lakes with moderate current. Blue Bream’s body is flat and bluish-grey in color, with silvery-white sides and belly and unpaired grey fins. Can be distinguished from other Bream by its long anal fin and smaller scales. These fish usually reach the length of about 40 cm, while ranging in weight from 0.2 to 0.9 kg. But it is possible to catch a unique specimen with a mass of up to 1.3 kg. Blue Bream’s diet is mostly based on zooplankton, insect larvae and aquatic plants.
When it comes to float, feeder, or bottom fishing, the best way to catch Blue Bream would be to use Bloodworms on a size #4 hook.
