Fishing guide

Grass Pickerel (Esox americanus vermiculatus) is a species of freshwater fish in the pike family (Esocidae). Can be found primarily in sluggish, vegetated waters of pools, lakes, and swamps. Can be distinguished from the related muskellunge and northern pike by its smaller size, banded or chainlike markings and fins with dark leading edges and amber to dusky coloration. Known to reach a maximum size of 36.7 cm (14 in) and weight of 0.45 kg (1 lb). They are carnivorous and feed mostly on smaller fish.

If you prefer to use natural baits, then the best way to catch Grass Pickerel would be to use Small Minnows on a size #1 hook.

If you are more into artificial lures, you should go for some Casting Spoons.

The most successful lure is Yellow & Red Rombs Casting Spoon 7 g, #1/0.
