Fishing guide

Pacific Bluefin Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus orientalis) is a large schooling pelagic fish of the tuna genus. It can be found in warm and moderate waters of the North Pacific Ocean and is very rare in its southern part. This is the largest tuna in the Pacific Ocean and the second largest among all tuna (after the Atlantic). It can reach 3 meters in length and more than 400 kilograms of weight. As a rule, Pacific Bluefin Tuna don’t go below 200 meters. Tunas often flock with other tunas of their size. It is constantly in motion, actively feeding day and night. It is an extremely voracious predator and feeds on a variety of small schooling fish, squid, and crabs.

If you prefer to use natural baits, then the best way to catch Pacific Bluefin Tuna would be to use Japanese Flying Squid on a size #12/0 hook.

If you are more into artificial lures, you should go for some Plugs.

The most successful lure is Light Wood Plug 150 g, #10/0.
