Fishing guide
Ruby Snapper (Etelis caibunculus) is a marine demersal fish from the Lutjanidae family, common in the Indo-Pacific region. It lives near rocky reefs at depths from 90 to 400 meters and can’t be found at depths less than 10 meters. It can reach 35 kilograms in weight. The Ruby Snapper feeds on fish, squid, crustaceans, and cephalopods. It can form small flocks. You can catch it using bottom or jig tackle. The Ruby Snapper is attracted to tackle with shiny and luminous elements.
If you prefer to use natural baits, then the best way to catch Ruby Snapper would be to use Medium Fish Strips on a size #4/0 hook.
If you are more into artificial lures, you should go for some Pilkers.
The most successful lure is Silver/Gold Trophy Double Hook Pilker 150 g, #7/0.
