Fishing guide

Steelhead Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a sea-run form of the coastal Rainbow Trout that usually returns to fresh water to spawn after living two to three years in the ocean. Steelhead Trout can reach up to 25 kg (55 lbs) in weight and 120 cm (45 in) in length, though its average size is much smaller, typically around 2-5 kg (4-11 lbs) and 60-80 cm (20-30 in). Adults mostly feed on insects, mollusks, crustaceans, fish eggs, minnows, and other small fish.

If you prefer to use natural baits, then the best way to catch Steelhead Trout would be to use Shiners on a size #4/0 hook.

If you are more into artificial lures, you should go for some Medium Spoons.

The most successful lure is Rainbow Holographic Medium Spoon 28 g, #4/0.
